Recertification helps verify that buildings are structurally sound and electrically safe to remain occupied. Updated requirements now apply to buildings 30 years and older, according to the County Property Appraiser.
If the city has issued you a notice, the property owner is responsible for hiring a licensed professional to conduct the inspections and submit the required documentation.
